A Chiropractic Library in the DumpsterA few years ago I called the American Chiropractic Association headquarters in Northern Virginia. "May I speak with the librarian," I asked. I was told that there was no such person. "Who took care of the library?", I asked. There was no library, I was told. Well, I knew quite well that the ACA had an enormous library dating back to the nineteenth century. When I asked what happened to it I was told, and I quote, " We pitched it." " What?" "We tossed the whole thing in the dumpster. Management decided that they needed the space for other things." I later found out that over one hundred years of rare journals, books, the veritable history of the details of natural healing in America had been destroyed by those who were charged with its care and preservation.
