Update.
I am now accepting new patients. The limiting factor is available time. Since I am currently working four mornings a week there is only so much time to see patients. Unless the case is very critical and requires immediate follow-up I prefer to have the patient return in two to three weeks and, in some cases, less often.
Patients who come from out-of-town may arrange to be seen more often in order to accommodate them.
Osteopathy is concerned with an intimate understanding and support of how your body is functioning right now. The treatment provided is customized for each patient and each visit. The system requires time to integrate each treatment. Hence, we can trust the system to let us know when it is ready to again receive treatment.
The human system is alive. It can communicate its needs if we are willing to really listen and work with it. Being an osteopathic physician requires one to cultivate such a relationship with the human system.
I have been in practice for many years and have never once given the same treatment. If I were to do so, I would not really be helping the patient in an honest and effective way.
